Scenes on Turkish railway bridge During January and February 2012, the filmmakers of SkyFall will be shooting in Turkey on the Varda Railway Bridge in the Taurus Mountains. Daily Mail claims Miss Moneypenny is Eve The Daily Mail still claims that Naomi Harris will be playing Miss Moneypenny even though she has been confirmed as Eve. The paper claims that the character of Eve will become Miss Moneypenny in the future. "She starts as a field operative called Eve and then comes inside the organisation as Miss Moneypenny, M’s right-hand woman." Daniel Craig hinted to the press that Miss Moneypenny and Q will return. A few months ago we found out that Q will be returning but there is still no word on Moneypenny. If this is true, the character will most probably not be credited as Miss Moneypenny until Bond 24 if she is included in that film. Scottish location to be filmed in Wales? Recent reports have claimed that the castle sequence in SkyFall will be shot in a Welsh castle. “They were looking at other venues, and I think they’re going to fake it that the Welsh castle is going to be in Scotland. The last thing I heard was that they were going to have some shots of somewhere like Rannoch Moor that’s pretty desolate and a few mountains – which Wales can come up with too." NBC interview with Daniel Craig Promoting his latest movie Girl With The Dragon Tatoo, Daniel Craig was joined by NBC host Matt Lauer discussing the new Bond film. _New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall. Ola Rapace on his scenes Ola Rapace has finally started discussing his involvement in SkyFall. "We have had great fun. Bond filming is like a playhouse, you can ride a motorcycle, fighting and shooting automatic weapons and things like that. So it's fun and has been really good." Rapace was rumoured to have a role in the movie until it was finally confirmed after the press conference. He still hasn't given us any clue as to what part he is playing in the film, but we assume that he will be playing a henchman of the films main villain played by Javier Bardem. Rapace is more used to television productions, so suddenly being a part of the largest and most recognised franchise in the world has shocked him. "Everything is bigger than I had thought, it's so much miscle, so much money, so many resources available anywhere. It's crazy really." He has said that his scenes have finished for now, but he will be returning in March to shoot some more scenes through May. Canary Warf scenes and images Last week, it was confirmed that scenes from SkyFall will be taking place at the Four Seasons hotel in Canary Warf. We also suspected that these scenes would also feature an indoor spa (and we were right). During filming, the spa was closed to the public and the windows of over-looking flats were blacked out. Somehow, someone managed to snap a few shots. To see the images, take a look at the gallery at the end of this blog post. Helen McCrory is not playing Miss Moneypenny After Ben Whishaw was confirmed as Q, we automatically thought that Miss Moneypenny was also going to get a part, with Helen McCrory seeming like the perfect actress for the role. And she even said that she would have a 'minor role in the film'. Helen McCrory told the British public that she would be playing a politicial and member of the British Parliament called Clair Dowar. Noel Callagher denies Skyfall title song Last week it was rumoured that Noel Callagher would be writing the opening song for SkyFall. His blog states this: "Now, I don't know whether you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by "007 bosses"!!!!! A meeting will be "taking place in the next few days"!!!! With some guy called "Michael G. Wilson" (whoever he is)!!! A "source" says, "nothing has been signed or made official"!!!! Of course it f*****' hasn't!!!!!! Who IS this f*****' "source"? Has he been on the "sauce"? Bizarre indeed. You currently find me in San Francisco.... It's the last night of this particular leg of this particular American tour. Flying home tomorrow." SkyFall to be shot in Canary Warf, London According to the Warf website, scenes from SkyFall with be shot at The Four Seasons Hotel in Westferry Circus "We would not usually say which locations we are using anyway. However, shooting began on the 007 stage at Pinewood on November 7." The crew have already been shooting SkyFall in the Whitehall, Smithfields market and Trafalgar Square. Helen McCrory rumoured to play Miss Moneypenny Helen McCrory has been tied in with the cast of SkyFall since the press conference earlier this month. She has refused to reveal who her character is. "It's nice, I'm not Bond in Bond and I'm not Hugo in Hugo. I've got a four- and five-year-old and I'm not away for months, making melodramatic decisions about whether to be a mother or an actress." If she has a minor role in the film, perhaps she is fitted to play Miss Moneypenny. Naomi Harris interview "I did worry about it a bit, My agent said to me: `It's unlike anything else you have done before, just be prepared'. After the launch, my face was everywhere in the papers and on the news. I was worried. But, amazingly, I was still able to get on and off the bus and no one recognised me." "Eve kicks ass. I'm loving it at the moment. I am such a pacifist, I never thought I would enjoy firing guns but, in the safety of the gun range and at a target board, it's so much fun. I'm doing gyrotonics (a fluid training style that blends movements of yoga, dance, gymnastics, tai chi and swimming on a machine) twice a week and I have a yoga teacher three times a week who also takes me jogging." Ben Whishaw has been cast as Q The Quartermaster returns for the first time since the reboot of the series in 2006. English actor Ben Whishaw confirmed Saturday that he would be playing the role of Q in SkyFall. Mendes believes that a younger Q would be best for such a younger Bond. Whishaw has worked with a number of the crew members in previous films. Ascot Racecourse filming It was confirmed this morning that scenes from SkyFall will be shot at the Ascot Racecourse. This racecourse appeared in A View To A Kill in 1985, but this time, they will be using the location for something completely different. The crew have been filming at night to hide the racetrack. Instead they have errected Shanghai International Airport signs with blue banners to match the airport. Some more filming tips: Daniel Craig has been spotted outside the National Art Gallery in Trafalgar Square. Outdoor sets have been created at Pinewood Studios. The crew have been purchasing lots of VW Beetle cars. __New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall.
Rory Kinnear talks about Bill Tanner You’re currently filming the new James Bond film, Skyfall, returning as M's Chief of Staff, Bill Tanner. How’s that going so far? "Great, we’ve just been at Pinewood and around Waterloo and Spitalfields doing some scenes with myself and Daniel [Craig] and Judi [Dench]. I go through to the beginning of February filming and I think they’re on until about April or May." That sounds like a fairly long shoot for you, does this mean that we see a bit more of Tanner this time around? "Yes, Tanner gets a bit more facetime this time, [the part] is a bit more beefed-up. He’s basically performing the same role but there’s a bit more of him." There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the film with the 50th anniversary coming up; is that excitement present on set as well? "I think everyone’s generally just really excited about the script and how good it is - and we’ve got Sam [Mendes] directing. "Obviously this is now my second one so I know how Daniel and Judi work. Nothing has been confirmed at the moment, but we understand that Gallagher has an audition with producer Michael G Wilson in Los Angeles. Gallagher says that they may use a song which he has already written, Freaky Teeth. The song has only been featured in live performances, not released in an album. "I listened back to it thinking, 'That'd make a fucking great Bond theme'" He said that he wants the new theme to be performed by a British artist, instead of sung by Yanks. Timothy Gibbs rumour Timothy Gibbs has been added to the cast on IMDB. According to the cast and crew section, Timothy Gibbs will be playing a character called Agent Folstrum. IMDB is a good movie database, but due to its open editing features it can lead to false accusations. For this reason, it is most likely that Timothy Gibbs will not be playing anyone by the name of Agent Folstrum. He could still be part of the cast though. No characters names will be released until at least the press conference in November, except for James Bond and M of course. Reduced budget rumour In The Sun news paper, they claim that Bond 23 will have a reduced budget compared to the one of Quantum of Solace, almost $100 million. It is also understood that only some of the cast and crew from Bond 23 will be travelling to the exotic filming locations. Turkey and Scotland are the only confirmed locations at the moment, with China and South Africa rumoured. "They’ve really scaled back. The lavish production and locations have been cut. There is only a reduced cast and crew travelling to the few overseas destinations. There’s not so flash hand-to-hand fighting, it’s gone back to blowing stuff up – including London’s Vauxhall Bridge" Range Rover now at Pinewood Studios Recent reports have said that the new Range Rover Evoque has been delivered to Pinewood Studios. Range Rover has been rumoured to supply the next Bond car because EON's conract with Aston Martin ran out.
