Bond filming is like a playhouse, you can ride a motorcycle, fighting and shooting automatic weapons and things like that. So it's fun and has been really good." Rapace was rumoured to have a role in the movie until it was finally confirmed after the press conference. He still hasn't given us any clue as to what part he is playing in the film, but we assume that he will be playing a henchman of the films main villain played by Javier Bardem. Rapace is more used to television productions, so suddenly being a part of the largest and most recognised franchise in the world has shocked him. "Everything is bigger than I had thought, it's so much miscle, so much money, so many resources available anywhere. It's crazy really." He has said that his scenes have finished for now, but he will be returning in March to shoot some more scenes through May. Canary Warf scenes and images Last week, it was confirmed that scenes from SkyFall will be taking place at the Four Seasons hotel in Canary Warf. We also suspected that these scenes would also feature an indoor spa (and we were right). During filming, the spa was closed to the public and the windows of over-looking flats were blacked out. Somehow, someone managed to snap a few shots. To see the images, take a look at the gallery at the end of this blog post. Helen McCrory is not playing Miss Moneypenny After Ben Whishaw was confirmed as Q, we automatically thought that Miss Moneypenny was also going to get a part, with Helen McCrory seeming like the perfect actress for the role. And she even said that she would have a 'minor role in the film'. Helen McCrory told the British public that she would be playing a politicial and member of the British Parliament called Clair Dowar. Whitehall rooftop shoot Last week Daniel Craig and Naomi Harris was spotted on the roof of the Whitehall in London. This is the first time Naomi Harris has been seen in character so far. London's Charing Cross night shoot Cameras were being set up at Charing Cross station in London on Thursday. Sign posts have been put up stating that the station is going to be called 'Temple station'. Temple is a London underground station in Westminster near Temple Place. The shoot is scheduled to start at 6:30pm and 5:30am. The station closes at 00:30 and will not reopen again until the first train leaves at 5:40. Noel Callagher denies Skyfall title song Last week it was rumoured that Noel Callagher would be writing the opening song for SkyFall. His blog states this: "Now, I don't know whether you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by "007 bosses"!!!!! A meeting will be "taking place in the next few days"!!!! With some guy called "Michael G. Wilson" (whoever he is)!!! A "source" says, "nothing has been signed or made official"!!!! Of course it f*****' hasn't!!!!!! Who IS this f*****' "source"? Has he been on the "sauce"? Bizarre indeed. You currently find me in San Francisco.... It's the last night of this particular leg of this particular American tour. Flying home tomorrow." SkyFall to be shot in Canary Warf, London According to the Warf website, scenes from SkyFall with be shot at The Four Seasons Hotel in Westferry Circus "We would not usually say which locations we are using anyway. Helen McCrory rumoured to play Miss Moneypenny Helen McCrory has been tied in with the cast of SkyFall since the press conference earlier this month. She has refused to reveal who her character is. "It's nice, I'm not Bond in Bond and I'm not Hugo in Hugo. I've got a four- and five-year-old and I'm not away for months, making melodramatic decisions about whether to be a mother or an actress." If she has a minor role in the film, perhaps she is fitted to play Miss Moneypenny. Naomi Harris interview "I did worry about it a bit, My agent said to me: `It's unlike anything else you have done before, just be prepared'. After the launch, my face was everywhere in the papers and on the news. I was worried. But, amazingly, I was still able to get on and off the bus and no one recognised me." "Eve kicks ass. I'm loving it at the moment. I am such a pacifist, I never thought I would enjoy firing guns but, in the safety of the gun range and at a target board, it's so much fun. I'm doing gyrotonics (a fluid training style that blends movements of yoga, dance, gymnastics, tai chi and swimming on a machine) twice a week and I have a yoga teacher three times a week who also takes me jogging." Ben Whishaw has been cast as Q The Quartermaster returns for the first time since the reboot of the series in 2006. This racecourse appeared in A View To A Kill in 1985, but this time, they will be using the location for something completely different. The crew have been filming at night to hide the racetrack. Instead they have errected Shanghai International Airport signs with blue banners to match the airport. Some more filming tips: Daniel Craig has been spotted outside the National Art Gallery in Trafalgar Square. Outdoor sets have been created at Pinewood Studios. The crew have been purchasing lots of VW Beetle cars. __New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall.
Rory Kinnear talks about Bill Tanner You’re currently filming the new James Bond film, Skyfall, returning as M's Chief of Staff, Bill Tanner. How’s that going so far? "Great, we’ve just been at Pinewood and around Waterloo and Spitalfields doing some scenes with myself and Daniel [Craig] and Judi [Dench]. I go through to the beginning of February filming and I think they’re on until about April or May." That sounds like a fairly long shoot for you, does this mean that we see a bit more of Tanner this time around? "Yes, Tanner gets a bit more facetime this time, [the part] is a bit more beefed-up. He’s basically performing the same role but there’s a bit more of him." There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the film with the 50th anniversary coming up; is that excitement present on set as well? "I think everyone’s generally just really excited about the script and how good it is - and we’ve got Sam [Mendes] directing. "Obviously this is now my second one so I know how Daniel and Judi work. Timothy Gibbs rumour Timothy Gibbs has been added to the cast on IMDB. According to the cast and crew section, Timothy Gibbs will be playing a character called Agent Folstrum. IMDB is a good movie database, but due to its open editing features it can lead to false accusations. No characters names will be released until at least the press conference in November, except for James Bond and M of course. There’s not so flash hand-to-hand fighting, it’s gone back to blowing stuff up – including London’s Vauxhall Bridge" Range Rover now at Pinewood Studios Recent reports have said that the new Range Rover Evoque has been delivered to Pinewood Studios. Filming in India cancelled It was recently confirmed by EON that Bond 23 will not be filmed in India, after the hassel they had trying to get permission to film there. "We'd given them all the permissions. They wanted to shoot in the Sabarmati yard and had asked to shoot on two gauges - broad gauge and meter gauge - and they wanted these for seven-hour stretches every day for seven days in a row, and we'd agreed. All had been worked out. They also wanted to shoot between Mumbai and Goa on the hero train, and wanted a special shot where a motorcycle from a bridge would jump on to a train, and the coach on which he'd jump needed to be re-enforced, and we agreed." "The matter was finalised by September 13. But a week later, we were informed that after an international discussion, the production team decided not to shoot in India. We've been very cooperative with them. We had ourselves hoped that the movie would be shot here," Instead of filming in India, the scenes will be moved to South Africa, which was a back-up for India. Filming is scheduled to begin there soon. Other confirmed locations include Istanbul and Pinewood Studios. Istanbul scenes The producers of Bond 23 met with Tourist Minister Ertugrul Günay to secure the filming taking place in Istanbul this November. The fact that the opening scene of the film will be made in Turkey will contribute to Turkish tourism. The ministry has been providing big support to the film sector for five years. We have made a concerted effort in the past five years to support the film sector and our aim continues to be to welcome international film crews to our country for filming," To celebrate 50 Years of James Bond, there taking the film back to one of the most loved places. Turkey was one of the filming locations in From Russia With Love and The World Is Not Enough. This time, they are hoping to film some of the more historic locations in the area. Bond 23 Title hint A recent interview with Daniel Craig has proved that an actual title for the new film has been considered. Anrea Mineo from CNN posted a tweet on her Twitter account, "I think I'm interviewing Daniel Craig shortly. Bond baby." Later on, she made another post saying "So Daniel Craig just told me they are starting the next James Bond film and it's got a title but he wouldn't tell me it." Bond 23, as its inevitably known, is scheduled to begin filming in Pinewood Studios this November ready for its release on 26th Octobert 2012 in the UK. John Logan hints about returning iconic character At a BAFTA event, screenwriter John Logan hinted that an iconic character may be returning. A member of the audience reminded Logan of something he said years ago. He said "Bond should always fight Blofeld'. He replied by repeating the phrase after letting of a little smirk. However, the posibility of Blofeld returning to the series is quite bleak, as the previous fimls have been based around a QUANTUM organisation. It is more likely that James Bond will go after the QUANTUM organisation before engaging in SPECTRE. If you didn't already know, both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are set before the rest of the Bond films, bringing Bond back to basics and giving audiences the chance to see how Bond has changed into the Bond we all know and love. The SPECTRE organisation was first introduced in Dr No and James Bond had never heard of it before. Because of this, it has left us wondering if John Logan meant someone else. Perhaps his quote from ten years ago was just to wet our appetites. Here are some iconic characters we think could return: Q - The quartermaster of MI6, who hasn't been present in the previous two films. A lot of fans have been dissapoined with the fact that he has been considered 'not-required'. Miss Moneypenny - Another character who has not appeared in the latest two films. Although suspicion has risen that Naomi Harris will play this role Jaws - The guy with the expensive teeth. He has only been present in two films (and several video games) Paris Carver - In Tomorrow Never Dies 1997, a relationship between James Bond and Paris Carver had blossomed before the film. Could she be returning? Valentin Zukovski - James Bond hints in GoldenEye 1995 that he was the one who 'gave him the limp', suggesting that he has had an encounter with him before which hasn't been present in the current films. Other characters could include Tanner or Robinson Bond 23 to begin production next week At the premiere of George Clooney's new film The Ides of March, Daniel Craig was asked about his third outing as James Bond "Craig told me he starts the next James Bond movie next week, which means a lot of working out. Daniel did not know whether the deal was done for Adele to sing the main theme" Filming at Pinewood Studios is still expected to begin in November. This means that they could be working on another scene in an unidentified location. It also confirms that the rumours of Adele singing a theme song is true, but we still don't know if it is for Bond 23. |
