New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall. The Second Official Photo 'Its raining M' The SKYFALL were shooting again in the streets of London, again these scenes will be near the beginning of the film. M's Jaguar was spotted in St Margaret's Street by Parliament Square. This scene is believed to be a follow-up from the driving shots that were filmed a last week. A rain-maker rig was fixed in Cadogan Square for a realistic downpour during the scene. Judi Dench was on location as well as her double. The scene was shot at night and M was leaving a building and quickly ran into the Jaguar. Images can be seen in the gallery. SKYFALL at IMAX It was revealed last week that SKYFALL will be shown in IMAX with the films official release. This will be the first time any Bond film has ever been shown here. "SKYFALL will be the cool, must-see event release of the fall, and releasing the film in IMAX only reinforces that," said Rory Bruer, President, Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution. "It is fitting that with SKYFALL marking the 50th Anniversary of the James Bond franchise, we celebrate in epic style and what could be more larger-than-life than IMAX joining the festivities," said Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officers of MGM. "It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of this legendary franchise, whose iconic characters and electrifying action will only be amplified in the IMAX format," said Greg Foster, Chairman and President, IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "We are excited to rejoin forces with our friends at Sony Pictures Entertainment and MGM and so pleased to work with Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, and Sam Mendes to bring their vision to IMAX and Bond fans around the world." Naomi Harris; the stunt woman Naomi Harris and Berenice Marlohe have been interviewed about their experiences so far during the production of SKYFALL. "I’m trying to do all my own stunts," Harris told reporters. "I’ve done them all so far. In a couple of weeks we’ve got another big stunt thing, so I don’t know if I can do all of them. But I’m trying to!" Berenice Marlohe says that she is still waiting for the chance to have some romantic scenes with Craig. "I certainly hope I’ll kiss Daniel Craig," the French actress told Total Film. "I will have Sam [Mendes] change everything if not!" A Range Rover for Bond Car Magazine has recently announced that the Land Rover Defender will be used in SYKFALL. The car will be driven by agent Eve (Naomi Harris). "We are really going to test that car, do things to it it's not normally designed for. Some of the stuff is so hairy and dangerous, we have to use a stuntman in a pod on the roof to do the driving. We've had to crank up the suspension, and the Defender is going to work very, very hard." The Defender was last used careering off the rock of Gibraltar in The Living Daylights 1987. The Rave Rover was last used in Quantum of Solace. As well as the Range Rover, other known vehicles to be used in SKYFALL are M's Jaguar, which has recently been spotted in London, James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 and several VW Beetles which were rigged to blow up in one of the scenes we believe has already been shot. WARNING: THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS SPOILERS Bond at BAFTAs Tom Jones opened the BAFTAs by performing his song Thunderball. He spoke of the time he was approached to do the song "I was so thrilled when John Barry and Don Black asked me to do 'Thunderball', because Shirley Bassey had just done 'Goldfinger' and Matt Munro had just done 'From Russia With Love'. It was great, especially then, because I was a young man in my 20s. I am glad I did it!" New Bond girls Naomi Harris and Berenice Marlohe attended the event too. Naomi Harris was interviewed about her time on the set. "It's amazing working with Daniel, he's such a hard worker. After shooting he does two hours of training. Incredible and an inspiration to us both." Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes were nominated for awards. Judi Dench was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in "My Week With Marilyn" and Ralph Fiennes was nominated for Outstanding Debut By A Director for his film "Coriolanus". Vauxhall bridge filming As planned, the crew were back in London this week shooting scenes with Judi Dench and Rory Kinnear. The scene appears to be taking place in the back of a Jaguar as M and Tanner drive back to MI6 Headquarters. The car was on a tow trailer with cameras rigged to the front windscreen. The shoot followed over to Sunday where they spent over 4 hours shooting with the road closed. {SPOILER} The action shot on the bridge will be seen at the beginning of the film, when M's car is blocked from getting close to the famous MI6 building by police. M and Tanner watch in horror as an explosion rocks the area. The fireball will be a digital effect, unlike The World Is Not Enough when the production built a large scale replica of the front of the building in order to blow a hole in it. {SPOILER} Stunt at Charing Cross A very impressive stunt took place inside Charing Cross station last week where a camera was used to film inbetween an escalator along the old Jubilee Line which has been closed from the public for a while. This scene is believed to be part of the foot chase sequence, where either Bond or Bardem's character slides down the moving stairs. New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall.
Ben Collins returns as James Bond's stunt driver Ben Collins returns to the crew to continue his role as stunt driver. He was spotted in London dressed in the same outfit as Daniel Craig was last week and was seen driving a car with the crew. Ben Collins was most famous for revealing his identity as 'The Stig' on the British television show Top Gear in his autobiography. SKYFALL shoots in Scotland James Bond went back to his roots this week when the crew headed off to Scotland to shoot scenes in the shadow of the mountain Buachaille Etive Mor ('The great herdsman of etive when translated.) The Daily Mail who reported the shoot also said that Aston Martin DB5's were part of a car chase which took off throughout the A82. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench were on set a little later in a location just an hours walk from the A82. Ben Collins was also on set driving an Aston Martin DB5 towards an old estate. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench were later spotted at Glasgow airport heading back to London. The last time Scotland was used in a Bond film was during 'The World Is Not Enough' in 1999. The latest clapper-board photograph shows that they have been filming scene 137, which comes after the sequence we saw a few months ago with Daniel Craig in the DB5 in London. We believe that this scene has something to do with James Bond's heritage. In the Ian Fleming novels, James Bond's father lived in Scotland. _New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall. Bond Is Back! Daniel Craig in Range Rover scenes
A small crew were spotted in Smithfield Market in London to shoot an extension of the scenes that were filmed near there on the first day of principal photography. A stunt driver had control of the Range Rover from the roof whilst Daniel Craig was in the back seat. The outside of the vehicle was rigged with cameras to film the actors inside. Heron Tower filming, London SkyFall is now well underway as the team were busy shooting scenes in London. This scene focussed on the Heron Tower which is believed to be doubling as a skyscraper in Shanghai. The Heron Tower can be seen near the famous Gherkin. Daniel Craig and the crew were spotted outside the Liverpool Street Tube Station. Exterior shots and the crew were photographed by Twitter user @jellideels. These images can be viewed in the gallery below. 'Nightfire' at Pinewood Studios Ok, no reference to the video game, but a catering truck for the crew at Pinewood Studios caught alight on January 27th at around 10:00pm. 30 Fire fighters were called to the incident. "The lorry was well alight, with flames reaching the top of the adjacent building." "Crews from Gerrards Cross and Slough used a hose reel and main jet to tackle the fire, which was now spreading to the roof from becoming fully involved and the incident from becoming much more serious." At 1am, the fire was put out and the area was secured. We only hope it didn't affect the interior sets. Brecon Beacons, Wales scrapped The BBC reported last week that scenes will be taking place in Brecon Beacons in Wales. They have now reported that they will not be filming here due to "logistical filming factors'. These rumours were never confirmed in the first place. Chase sequence in Tower Hill The SkyFall team have been busy again, this time, Daniel Craig was yet again racing through the streets of London. He is wearing a dirty suit and an earpiece; suggesting that this scene carries on from the one they started earlier on in the month. In this scene James Bond runs down the street, grabs a taxi and gets chased by cops. In one image, Daniel Craig is seen weilding his Walther PPK. SIS building is back for MI6 Head-Quarters The crew were shooting around London today on the Vauxhall Bridge that goes over the river Thames. It is also the location used in the most of the Pierce Brosnan films as the MI6 Head-Quarters, but has not featured in a Bond film since Die Another Day in 2002. It appears to be making a comeback in SKYFALL. Buses have will be delayed between 6:30am and 17:30 on Saturday 4th February. Helicopter filming has also been reported to take place. These scenes will be shot between 17:00 and 22:00. Reports have stated that over the next few weeks, Horse Guards Avenue, Whitehall Court and Whitehall Place will be closed for the filming of SKYFALL on Saturday 18th February. |
