Official SKYFALL Teaser Trailer Released (post continues after video) SKYFALL stops The Avengers from becoming #1 According to Hitfix, SKYFALL has stopped The Avengers from becoming #1 for 5 weeks in a row, and that was before the trailer was released. Since 007.com released the teaser trailer on Monday, lots of people have been expressing their opinion. The big build up to the pre-longed trailer has certainly lived up to standards. Several YouTube users can been spoofing the SYKFALL trailer, including one which stands out among the rest. A Moonraker trailer completely based on the SYKFALL trailer. Berenice Marlohe interview Berenice Marlohe has (apparently) finished shooting for the new Bond film. SKYFALL Teaser Poster Revealed The firsty poster for SKYFALL was released on Thursday along with a new release date for the teaser trailer. According to 007.com, the first trailer for SKYFALL will be released slightly earlier on 21st May (this Monday) and then it will be released in cinemas on 25th May (this Friday). The poster shows Daniel Craig as James Bond holding his PPK with the gun barrel behind him. The gun barrel seems to resemble a train tunnel which Bond is walking down. What do you think? (More updates below poster)  Sam Mendes wants a real Bond villain Damsels.org interviewed Sam Mendes (the director) last week. "[It's been] a while since there was a classic … what I would call a classic Bond villain. I’m not saying these guys weren’t great. I thought Mads[Mikkelsen] was particularly good in Casino RoyaleBut I wanted somebody perhaps a bit more flamboyant, perhaps a bit more frightening, and so I felt like we needed a great actor to achieve that." Sam Mendes cast Javier Bardem as the films main antagonist; Raoul Silva, whom we know very little about. Train Chase in Adana with Craig and Harris Now that the first unit and second unit team have met up in Adana, they have started to shoot the action-packed pre-title sequence. Daniel Craig was on the set with Naomi Harris. Craig was accompanied by his stunt double as some amazing stunts were performed on the roof of a train.

SKYFALL Video Blog with Production Designer Dennis Gassner Craig and Marlohe spotted on luxury yacht Daniel Craig and Berenice Marlohe were spotted last week on a luxury yacht off the coast of Turkey. They were joined by Sam Mendes and Barbara Broccoli. We suspect that this scene, although shot in Turkey, is probably doubling for somewhere east of the Mediterranean due to their clothes. Bond is seen quickly getting out of a Range Rover while the enemy shoots at him. Bond takes cover behind a market stool. EMPIRE Magazine covers for SKYFALL The EMPIRE Magazine is releasing TWO SKYFALL covers for their magazine this month. One of which shows Daniel Craig as James Bond holding his Walther PPK in a pose that looks similar to Connery's. The second cover shows Daniel Craig as James Bond wearing a pinstripe suit with the caption 'Bond. Back In Business'. The magazine is said to take a look back at films including 1995's Goldeneye, 1973's Live & Let Die and 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Michael G Wilson holds press conference in Istanbul
Michael G Wilson, one of the two producers of the James Bond films, held a press conference last week to end a few rumours that have been going around since they started filming in Turkey. "We have previously shot in cultural places in many countries. We pay great attention to not cause any damage to such places, even before we came here we filmed at the National Gallery in London, and in all of the places, we've always come away with a good feeling and all of the people seemed to be happy to welcome us back. So, hopefully, we can maintain that feeling here in Istanbul and across Turkey," He commented on the motorcycle stunt that took place a few weeks ago which appeared to have shattered a window and damaged a building. "If you go back a week or two after we leave you'll find there is no building there at all. We built that entire building, but I have to say, I was up there today and I was convinced it was part of the site - but it was actually our own construction. Similarly, when you go back and look at the window that the motorcycle came through in the Grand Bazaar, you'll see that it's actually a very tall opening and we've made it smaller and put in a window - it's our own window [that was damaged during filming]. It's all part of us being illusionists. This is what the art of cinema is." He also said that some of the stunts haven't been very successful, and that a stunt man doubling for a villain did brake a shop window, but the crew have offered to pay for the damage but the owner hasn't accepted yet. Speculation has started about the crew damaging roof tiles on buildings as the motorcycles drive over them. Wilson said that the motorcycles are driving on platforms which cover the roof and all the real tiles were removed and replaced with prop tiles. One of the more rediculous rumours were put to rest too. Turkish newspapers were reporting that the SKYFALL filming was a cover-up to transport weapons to Syria. Michael Wilson said “If someone takes this claim seriously, the safety of the film team will be in danger. I want to underline it. This is extremely dangerous and false news. I advise the person who made this news to quit journalism and make a film in Hollywood, because he has a very good imagination.” “The reason why the film is being made in Turkey rather than any other country is that the natural environments here have not been used in any other big project before, as well as the promises given by relevant ministries.” Principal cast have arrived in Turkey Daniel Craig and Naomi Harris have arrived in Istanbul. Other cast are said to have arrived. Daniel Craig is said to be filming for 3 weeks whereas other cast members will be 5 weeks. Since then filming has started on a beach in Fethiye, where there was a team of over 1,000 people. The filming started here on 26th April and is said to have finished on 28th April. SKYFALL trailer has been revealed in Las Vegas Sony Pictures were reported to have shown attendants to the CinemaCon2012 event in Las Vegas last week. The trailer is said to be publically released on 25th May to tie in with the release of Men In Black III. Various parts of the trailer were leaked from some of the people who attended the event. WARNING: THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS SPOILERS SKYFALL Photographs released Firstly, before 007.com released the official photographs, we saw a few new pics in a French Magazine called Studio Ciné. Like the BBC, Studio Ciné journalists were invited to visit Pinewood Studios during filming and took some shots. Also in the magazine, Sam Mendes discussed the characters saying that none of the characters have been pushed to such limits. He also hinted that characters from the past are returning, suggesting that Q will not be the olny character we recognise. Jany Temine also commented on her role as costume designer and let slip that Berenice Marlohe's character is actually a 'femme fatale'. (A femme fatale is an attractive and seductive woman, one who will ultimately bring disaster to a man who becomes involved with her.) James Bond visits Japan in SKYFALL According to a recent report by MovieFone, SKYFALL takes Bond to an old Japanese island which has been recreated at Pinewood Studios. "The abandoned Japanese city, complete with tattered statue of a forgotten hero -- which looks like it weighs a ton… misleadingly." Ola Rapace on set As one of the official SKYFALL images revealed, Ola Rapace was on set in Turkey. He told the press that one of his scenes was a motor bike stunt from a bridge onto a moving train. This information was leaked early in the production when the crew were still scouting for locations. He also revealed that his character is actually called Patrice and that when it came to casting Rapace, production executives wanted to hire a stunt professional as the character's role includes high-action. Sam Mendes insisted on casting Rapace. "The tried out a huge number of stuntmen. I was incredibly flattered and happy that he wanted me to do it. Sometimes I feel this world is ridiculously big," Ola says. "But I am enjoying every second. The job isn't much different due to the fact that there is so much more money involved." According to the paper, it is Patrice whom Bond will fight in the pre-title sequence. Daniel Craig interview on set MTV caught up with Daniel Craig on set at Pinewood Studios and asked him about the feel of SKYFALL. "I sat down with Sam Mendes two years ago, three years ago — now it's getting on four — and we discussed what we wanted to do and how we wanted to do it, and he's one of the biggest Bond fans around," said Craig, who's taking on the 007 role for the third time. He's not out to do an angst-ridden movie, some chamber piece about people's emotions," Craig continued. "It's a Bond movie. But we both agreed that if he cast the film, which he did really well, and we brought in older characters and new characters, that we'd have something really rich and sort of exciting to watch." Just when we thought filming had ended in London, Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Javier Bardem were spotted near Whitehall. Whitehall Court, Whitehall Place and Horse Guards Avenue were call closed for the shooting. Javier Bardem was spotted in a police car driving past onlookers. It should also be reported that Helen McCrory who plays Clair Dowar has finished all of her scenes. She also talked about how she was approached for the role; Sam Mendes told her to keep her schedule free in February. Sun News Paper ruins SKYFALL twist Ever since the story was first written, Bond fans were told to expect an interesting twist. SKYFALL has, so far, been the most discussed and most secretive Bond film in the history of the franchise. Bond fans have been given little, if any, details about the plot. An unknown member of the crew let slip of the twist and The Sun Newspaper quickly got hold of it. A word of warning, if you don't want to know how SKYFALL ends, DO NOT click this link. The latest SKYFALL clapperboard posted on their FaceBook page reveals that they are filming underwater. Pillars are visible in the background. We assume that this represents the underground lair of Kerim Bey in From Russia With Love. If this is true, then this sequence is probably filmed at Pinewood Studios as a double for Istanbul. Third Bond Girl Bond girls always seem to come in three's (Natalia Simonova, Xenia Onnatop, Caroline and Wai Lin, Paris Carver, Professor Bergstrom). Well, this is the third Bond girl; Greek actress Tonia Sotiropoulou. She posted several positive updates on her FaceBook profile, including "Dear friends I officially announce I got a part in J. Bond new film!!! Turkey here I come! Thank u all for you love and support! This is officially the happiest day of my life bitches!!!!" and "This is the happiest day of my life so far! I feel very lucky and blessed, but basically, I am very grateful that this happened, for my family and my friends who believe in me and support trying to do. I will do the best, I am very proud because somehow it might be something that will advertise in Greece and I am happy about it." [SPOILER] Tonia Sotiropoulou's character is said to appear in the pre-title sequence of the film. Her character helps Bond sneak into the country (Istanbul) after Bond is assumed dead. Ring any bells? You Only Live Twice? [SPOILER] Release date of SKYFALL Teaser Trailer has been revealed according to The Daily Mail The Daily Mail has reported that SKYFALL's Teaser Trailer will be released alongside Men In Black III when it hits cinemas. "Sony took delivery of the trailer for the 23rd Bond film, Skyfall, earlier in the week. It will be attached to all the prints of Men In Black III, which comes out here on May 25. Not even Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones or Lady Gaga — stars of MIB3 — know what’s on the 007 trailer. But Sam Mendes, Skyfall’s director does (duh!)." Javier Bardem Interview Javier Bardem was quizzed on his time with SKYFALL so far on Spanish Television. "It's a very beautiful and fun adventure, yesterday I was on set with Albert Finney, with Judi Dench, with Daniel Craig." "It's cool, and the coolest thing and what's most important is the material. When I got it and saw the character, immediately you forget a little that it is a James Bond film and you realise that it is a great film and that's what attracted me. I said, "man this gives you a lot of possibilities". Obviously it's a James Bond film and it has everything you expect from a Bond film." "I don't know, there is also something that Sam [Mendes], the director, told me a short while and he was right: James Bond films are midway between reality and fiction. Therefore it is a very good and very fertile terrain to play the characters with a certain freedom. It has to do with a real situation and there has got to be seriousness playing it but it's more open, it gives you more air so that you can work and imagine more. WARNING: THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS SPOILERS Stunt photographs from Turkey set The stunt chase in Turkey is under way as filming started last week. The Land Rover and damaged VW Beetles were on set. Also, a 17 year old boy managed to sneak into one of the carriages and took a few pictures of the stunt men performing a machette fight (similar to the scene on Octopussy with Bond and Gobinda) SKYFALL's Burning! Scenes in Scotland came to an end this weekend as the crew set light to SKYFALL-Lodge. From the images in the gallery below, we can see why a replica had to be made, it would have been almost impossible to create this effect with the real thing. This scene marks the films climax and the epic battle between Bond and Silva. The latest clapperboard shows a damaged door to the building. During this scene, a dummy helicopter was used to crash into the burning building. We understand that James Bond caused this to crash. Perhaps Silva was inside? WARNING: THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS SPOILERS London Chase Scene continued SKYFALL is well underway as we draw a close to the scenes shot in London. The team will be focussing on scenes in Turkey from now on. As reported in February, Daniel Craig was seen running through the streets of London chasing after the main villain, who's name we can confirm as SILVA. This time, both Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem were on set along with hundreds of extras. {SPOILER} Whitehall was closed off during filming. Northumberland Avenue had fake sign posts above a disused exit of Charing Cross station so that it appeared to be 'Embankment station'. Silva (Javier Bardem) exited Whitehall via the side and quietly escaped disguised as a metropolitan police officer. We believe that he caused the chaos in the streets. With this disguise, it could be the twist that is said to appear in the film. A video below shows Daniel Craig's stunt double in action while Daniel Craig continues to chase the villain down. Rememberance poppies are also seen on vehicles, which could mean that this film is set when the film is released (in October/November) {SPOILER} The crew were said to be moving out to Turkey last Wednesday, but there has currently been no reports of them arriving yet. The true meaning of SKYFALL Last month, the crew were in Scotland where they filmed a chase sequence with Daniel Craig and Judi Dench in the famous Aston Martin DB5. The crew have reconstructed an old Scottish estate which is going to be blown up in the film. This building will be called 'SKYFALL Lodge' and is supposed to be the home of James Bond, where he grew up. James Bond takes M there after they flee London and he talks of his childhood, before being attacked by Silva. Similarities between SKYFALL and other Bond films We decided to take a moment and think of where the writers of SKYFALL got their ideas from. - Silva's desguide resembles Kananga's Mr Big desguise in Live & Let Die - There is a lot of action on trains. From Russia With Love's main fight sequence was completely based on a train, and the battle between Tee Hee and Bond in Live & Let Die were also set on a train. - Istanbul was a filming location used in From Russia With Love and The World Is Not Enough - The Whitehall pillars which are used in SKYFALL relates to the hall of pillars in From Russia With Love, where Krilencu is killed. - The MI6 Head Quarters blowing up resembles the explosion in The World Is Not Enough pre-title sequence - The character of M plays a larger role in the film, like in The World Is Not Enough As you can see, quite a lot of the inspiration comes from Live & Let Die and From Russia With Love. It makes sense because Live & Let Die is Sam Mendes' favorite Bond film and From Russia With Love is Daniel Craigs favorite. Poll for SKYFALL theme An unnofficial poll was started on IGN last week about popular artists to sing the new song for SKYFALL. Musicians from U2, Florence + the Machine, Rihanna, Guns N Roses, Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Take That, Plan B and Noel Callagher. The Foo Fighters came third after Muse beat them in second. Of course, Adele is currently in the lead. Actor joins as SKYFALL's Evil Henchman Hopefully, we will get a good iconic henchman (like Jaws or Oddjob). Luckily, a new actor confirmed his involvement in the series last week. Swedish actor Jens Hultén will be playing henchman to Javier Bardem's SILVA. He said that he had already been shooting scenes for the film, which we presume took place at Pinewod Studios. "It's obviously a great honor to participate in "Skyfall". Bond movies are huge productions with some of the greatest talents both in front and behind the camera as it is fantastic to be part of." James Bond's ancestory As the crew prepare the new building in SKYFALL, several grave-stones were made for the chapel named SKYFALL-Lodge. James Bond's mother (Monique Delacroix) and father (Andrew Bond) will be amongst these head-stones; as well as Robert Bond, Celia Bond, Valentine Bond and Kathleen Bond. On Monique Delacroix's stone the latin phraze "Mors Ultima Linea Rerum Est" is engraved; which means "Death is Everything's Final Limit". More information on train sequence in Turkey Last week we reported the train sequence that was being prepared in Turkey. We now know that the sequence is scheduled to begin shooting this Wednesday. Turkish officials have said that the film will be using lots of trains; a good reference to Sam Mendes' favorite film Live & Let Die and Daniel Craig's favorite film From Russia With Love. Some more pictures are available in the gallery. Extras wanted for Istanbul scenes A total of 25-day shoot, during 10 days extras will appear as tourists in the Bazaar. These 10-days are not fixed yet. The parties will be notified when determined. The extras will get 80 TL per day and they will be paid at the end of every shooting day. Estimated shooting time range is between end of March and mid of April. Persons wishing to take part as an extra should come for interview on Wednesday 07.04.2012. Persons who will come for interview should call the following phone number in order to inform about the meeting place and meeting time. These scenes will most likely involve fire (hence his involvement in the film). He was quizzed about it on twitter, to which he replied "Top secret stuff! All I can say is: Bond's house, gas, kerosene, helicopter, grenades & 120000L water on standby..." Later that day, he closed his Twitter account. Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Rory Kinnear were one set last Saturday. the crew then moved to Buckingham Palace and since then they have gone back to Pinewood Studios were sets of a street and town have been constructed. Images can be seen in the gallery (yes there is actually a picture of Daniel Craig smiling) Preparations for Turkey shoot As planned, the SKYFALL team have started to prepare for the filming in Turkey. The citizens of Adana where the first too see trains and vehicles that are going to be used during these scenes. The VW Beetles were on set and are prepared to be blown up as fantastic train stunts will be performed here over the coming weeks. The scenes being shot here were originally planned to take place in India, but they were cancelled. Locals took some shots of them preparing, the video can be seen below. Gallery |
