New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall. WARNING: THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS SPOILERS SKYFALL Photographs released Firstly, before 007.com released the official photographs, we saw a few new pics in a French Magazine called Studio Ciné. Like the BBC, Studio Ciné journalists were invited to visit Pinewood Studios during filming and took some shots. Also in the magazine, Sam Mendes discussed the characters saying that none of the characters have been pushed to such limits. He also hinted that characters from the past are returning, suggesting that Q will not be the olny character we recognise. Jany Temine also commented on her role as costume designer and let slip that Berenice Marlohe's character is actually a 'femme fatale'. (A femme fatale is an attractive and seductive woman, one who will ultimately bring disaster to a man who becomes involved with her.) As well as the magazine, 007.com released a whole set of photographs on their FaceBook page. These can be seen in the gallery below. James Bond visits Japan in SKYFALL According to a recent report by MovieFone, SKYFALL takes Bond to an old Japanese island which has been recreated at Pinewood Studios. "The abandoned Japanese city, complete with tattered statue of a forgotten hero -- which looks like it weighs a ton… misleadingly." Ola Rapace on set As one of the official SKYFALL images revealed, Ola Rapace was on set in Turkey. He told the press that one of his scenes was a motor bike stunt from a bridge onto a moving train. This information was leaked early in the production when the crew were still scouting for locations. He also revealed that his character is actually called Patrice and that when it came to casting Rapace, production executives wanted to hire a stunt professional as the character's role includes high-action. Sam Mendes insisted on casting Rapace. "The tried out a huge number of stuntmen. I was incredibly flattered and happy that he wanted me to do it. Sometimes I feel this world is ridiculously big," Ola says. "But I am enjoying every second. The job isn't much different due to the fact that there is so much more money involved." According to the paper, it is Patrice whom Bond will fight in the pre-title sequence. Daniel Craig interview on set MTV caught up with Daniel Craig on set at Pinewood Studios and asked him about the feel of SKYFALL. "I sat down with Sam Mendes two years ago, three years ago — now it's getting on four — and we discussed what we wanted to do and how we wanted to do it, and he's one of the biggest Bond fans around," said Craig, who's taking on the 007 role for the third time. He's not out to do an angst-ridden movie, some chamber piece about people's emotions," Craig continued. "It's a Bond movie. But we both agreed that if he cast the film, which he did really well, and we brought in older characters and new characters, that we'd have something really rich and sort of exciting to watch." _New blog posts every week with the latest information on SkyFall. Bond Is Back! Daniel Craig in Range Rover scenes
A small crew were spotted in Smithfield Market in London to shoot an extension of the scenes that were filmed near there on the first day of principal photography. A stunt driver had control of the Range Rover from the roof whilst Daniel Craig was in the back seat. The outside of the vehicle was rigged with cameras to film the actors inside. Heron Tower filming, London SkyFall is now well underway as the team were busy shooting scenes in London. This scene focussed on the Heron Tower which is believed to be doubling as a skyscraper in Shanghai. The Heron Tower can be seen near the famous Gherkin. Daniel Craig and the crew were spotted outside the Liverpool Street Tube Station. Exterior shots and the crew were photographed by Twitter user @jellideels. These images can be viewed in the gallery below. 'Nightfire' at Pinewood Studios Ok, no reference to the video game, but a catering truck for the crew at Pinewood Studios caught alight on January 27th at around 10:00pm. 30 Fire fighters were called to the incident. "The lorry was well alight, with flames reaching the top of the adjacent building." "Crews from Gerrards Cross and Slough used a hose reel and main jet to tackle the fire, which was now spreading to the roof from becoming fully involved and the incident from becoming much more serious." At 1am, the fire was put out and the area was secured. We only hope it didn't affect the interior sets. Brecon Beacons, Wales scrapped The BBC reported last week that scenes will be taking place in Brecon Beacons in Wales. They have now reported that they will not be filming here due to "logistical filming factors'. These rumours were never confirmed in the first place. Chase sequence in Tower Hill The SkyFall team have been busy again, this time, Daniel Craig was yet again racing through the streets of London. He is wearing a dirty suit and an earpiece; suggesting that this scene carries on from the one they started earlier on in the month. In this scene James Bond runs down the street, grabs a taxi and gets chased by cops. In one image, Daniel Craig is seen weilding his Walther PPK. SIS building is back for MI6 Head-Quarters The crew were shooting around London today on the Vauxhall Bridge that goes over the river Thames. It is also the location used in the most of the Pierce Brosnan films as the MI6 Head-Quarters, but has not featured in a Bond film since Die Another Day in 2002. It appears to be making a comeback in SKYFALL. Buses have will be delayed between 6:30am and 17:30 on Saturday 4th February. Helicopter filming has also been reported to take place. These scenes will be shot between 17:00 and 22:00. Reports have stated that over the next few weeks, Horse Guards Avenue, Whitehall Court and Whitehall Place will be closed for the filming of SKYFALL on Saturday 18th February. |
