German film director Roland Emmerich has expressed his desire to direct a Bond film in the future. Known for his work on "2012" and "Independence Day", Emmerich was interviewed by Yahoo movies and said that he liked the new direction Mendes took with "Skyfall" and would like to give it a go. "Especially after the last one [Skyfall], because they've finally had the guts to go in different moods. I think a classic Bond film, no. But if they would let me do my Bond film the same way they let English director Sam Mendes do his Bond film, then that'd be interesting. Have a word with Barbara Broccoli when you get back." Emmerich was once considered to direct "Die Another Day" back in 2002 but he lost out to Lee Tamahori. Emmerich is spending his time on the sequel to "Independene Day", and not to mention Sam Mendes has already signed on to direct "Bond 24" in 2015.
