The title of BOND 24 has been officially announced as well as the principal cast members and the new Aston Martin DB10 which will also appear in the movie. The announcement was made at The 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios. Below is the full press release.
On this day in 1909, Albert “Cubby” Broccoli, the man who would go on to bring James Bond to a worldwide cinematic audience, was born. Having started from humble beginnings on the farmlands of Long Island, Cubby’s extraordinary journey to become one of Hollywood’s best-loved producers is lovingly detailed in his autobiography. Covering a lifetime of inspirational and often humorous stories, from his relationships with Howard Hughes, Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck, to finding an actor to play the first Bond, The Autobiography of Cubby Broccoli: The Man Who Brought James Bond 007 To The Screen is now updated as an eBook from EON Productions, with new introductions from Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. ‘The Autobiography of Cubby Broccoli: The Man Who Brought James Bond 007 To The Screen’, by the late Albert R Broccoli and Donald Zec, is available from leading eBook retailers, priced at £4.99/$7.70. EON Productions will donate all of the income from the sales of this eBook to Cancer Research UK Congratulations to SKYFALL’s Adele for her Best Original Song Oscar and also to Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers who picked up the Oscar for Sound Editing! For many, "Die Another Day" was considered a flop. It included excessive CGI throughout. However, director Lee Tamahori and producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli shed some light on the subject.
“The first hour is good, then it goes a bit cartoon-y. But at the start, Brosnan is captured by the North Koreans, tortured, then traded for an enemy agent. M is very tough [with Bond] and he has to escape. They question whether Bond has cracked and so on. It is reasonably similar material to the later ones but it’s the way it’s done [by the director].” Neal Purvis “I think you can’t regret anything, because what you do affects your next step,” said Barbara Broccoli. “By the way, those are now part of the military”, added Michael G. Wilson. “It’s true,” replied Broccoli. “That’s where we got the idea from when we were making the film. It was the cutting edge of technology.” Neal Purvis and Robert Wade joked that the invisible Aston Martin Vanquish was in every James Bond movie, you just couldn't see it. They also mentioned that they originally envisioned the car being camouflaged into the background setting, but Lee Tamahori decided to take it one step further. Today, a train named after Bond film SKYFALL was unveiled at King’s Cross Station. It’s the first time a film has permanently given its name to a train. The East Coast London to Edinburgh service, train number 91007, has been renamed SKYFALL with each of its eleven carriages wrapped in SKYFALL artwork. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, actress Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny) and writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were on the train’s maiden journey which departed platform 007 at King’s Cross at 8.33am. You can follow the train’s progress on Twitter. #SKYFALLTRAIN Visit skyfalllodge.com to learn about how the "Skyfall" team designed and constructed the huge set, browse concept artwork and photographs from the production and watch video from the crew. There is also a snippet of Sam Mendes' commentary track about the location. If you can find the hidden door to the Priest hole, you'll unlock a stunt bootcamp videoblog. Aston Martin fans will no doubt love the set of behind the scenes photographs and 360 degree virtual 3D model.
"Skyfall" is available on Blu-Ray and DVD in the USA & Canada now, and will be launched in the UK on February 18th, 2013. At last night’s BAFTA ceremony in London SKYFALL was presented with two awards. The first was for Outstanding British Film; director Sam Mendes, writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade and producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli were on hand to receive the award. Later in the ceremony, Composer Thomas Newman was honoured for his SKYFALL score.
