Bond girl Eunice Gayson launched the official Bond Blu-ray Relay today at Eilean Donan Castle, situated on the edge of Loch Duich, Scotland. Eunice, who played Sylvia Trench in DR. NO and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, arrived at 9am in the QUANTUM OF SOLACE Aston Martin DBS. The castle, home to the British Secret Service in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, played host to both loyal fans and the national press, who took the opportunity to interview Eunice about her roles. From Loch Duich the tour continued across 200 miles of Scottish Highlands to Lochgilphead, an area made famous with FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. Having arrived in 1963 to create a Turkish boat scene on the Loch itself, the Bond team decided to stay and film a helicopter chase in the surrounding hills. The stone that 007 took refuge under still stands, discovered by a local farmer who watched the action being filmed as a young boy of twelve.

The Bond Blu-ray Relay will tour the UK for seven days. James Bond legend Sir Roger Moore today set the digital timer on a golden briefcase containing the first box set of all 22 Bond films on Blu-ray, which will travel the length of Great Britain from Monday 17th to Monday 24th September.
To mark the Golden Anniversary of James Bond on film, the golden briefcase will set off in an Aston Martin DBS featured in QUANTUM OF SOLACE from Eilean Donan Castle in the Scottish Highlands at 10.07am on Monday 17th September, embarking on a seven-day journey. We have also been informed that a full theatrical poster will be released in late September/early October time. 007 LEGENDS has been announced for the Playstation 3 and X-BOX 360, but Amazon has listed the game on the PC as well. The game will be released on PC in the UK on October 19th 2012 for £29.99
Developer Eurocom is known by 007 gamers for their work on the PC platform with past Bond titles. Elsewhere, European games sites have spread rumours that a Nintendo Wii U version is in the pipeline as a potential launch title for the new console hitting stores later this year. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of James Bond on film, Christie’s announces 50 Years of James Bond – The Auction which will present a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Bond memorabilia direct from the archives of EON Productions as well as donations from the Bond cast.
Forty lots will be offered at an online-only auction from 28th September to 8th October 2012, with 10 further lots to highlight an invitation-only auction at Christie’s South Kensington on 5th October – marking the 50th anniversary of the first screening of Dr. No. These 10 further lots will also be accessible to both internet and live, real-time bids. All items offered for sale will be on public exhibition at Christie’s South Kensington saleroom, 85 Old Brompton Road from 11am on Saturday, 29 September until 5pm on Friday, 5 October 2012; admittance free. All proceeds of the auction will benefit UNICEF’s work for children and other charitable causes.
