About the new Game: GoldenEye 007 is a 2010 first-person shooter video game developed by Eurocom and published by Activision for the Nintendo Wii video game console. It is an enhanced remake of the critically acclaimed 1997 video game of the same name, which was developed by Rare for the Nintendo 64. Both games are, in turn, based on the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye. The game was officially announced by Nintendo at their E3 2010 conference presentation. Although Pierce Brosnan starred as Bond in GoldenEye and was featured in the 1997 game, current Bond actor Daniel Craig's likeness and voice will be featured in the game. Judi Dench, who has portrayed M in GoldenEye, will voice her character. David Arnold, the composer of every subsequent Bond film since Tomorrow Never Dies, will compose the game's score. The game's script is penned by Bruce Feirstein, the writer of the original 1995 GoldenEye film. Rory Kinnear will reprise his role from the films as Bill Tanner, M's Chief of Staff. While GoldenEye 007 is essentially a re-imagining of the popular Nintendo 64 title, the game does have some noticeable differences. Levels have been altered to reflect the game's modified story. According to Craig Harris of IGN, "GoldenEye still retains the basics of GoldenEye's story, but retells it in a way that makes sense with Daniel Craig's interpretation of James Bond". Likewise, the game features modern game design techniques to coincide with other modern first person shooters, such as destructible environments and online multiplayer. The game will also include 25 confirmed weapons, all of them closely based on their real names, unlike Rare's adaptation. In the debut trailer, the following weapons are seen with their simple names: AK-47, Walther P99, FN P90, Walther WA 2000, Heckler & Koch G36C, SVD Dragunov, and FN SCAR. The Multiplayer will include 8 classic Bond character including Jaws, Scaramanga, Oddjob, and 006. This game is one of a few Wii games to allow use of several different control schemes. This game can be played with Wii Remote with Nunchuk, Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, or the Nintendo GameCube controller, potentially allowing four player to play in different styles simultaneously.
