OMEGA celebrated Bond's fiftieth anniversary with the launch of two commemorative limited edition watches and a selection of iconic props from every 007 film at its new store in London's Stratford Westfield today. If you’re in the UK capital over the next few days then head over to the store because it's an incredible opportunity to see props from all of Bond’s 22 missions so far. You can get an up-close look at the Parahawk from THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, the Dom Perignon champagne bottle from DR. NO, a flask bomb used in A VIEW TO A KILL, Jaws’ teeth from THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, Bond’s piton gun from GOLDENEYE and the golden gun from, well, THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN.
The prop showcase continues through Friday February 24th at the OMEGA Boutique at the Stratford Westfield Mall and is open to the public. Check out the pictures in the gallery on this page or visit OMEGA’s website or Facebook page for more details. www.omegawatches.com www.facebook.com/omega If you've been paying attention to our events section, you would have heard about the Festival of Transport at Hempstead Valley this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Well, I've been down there and taken a few pictures. Take a look... If you've been to Beaulieu before, you would have seen their collection of James Bond memorabilia. A recent news article stated that Beauleu will be purchasing even more of the James Bond vehicles and gadgets for next year, making it the largest James Bond exhibition is the world.
"Exhibition of glamorous - and lethal - genuine James Bond vehicles and props. Get close to the tools of the trade of 007's secret world - genuine artefacts you will remember from many of the films - even Jaw's shirt! Plus a genuine shooting script from the making of 'Thunderball'." Their website states some of the vehicles they already have on display. These include the Lotus Esprit and Jet Ski from The Spy Who Loved Me, Jaguar XKR from Die Another Day, Ford Cougar from On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Ford Mondeo from Casino Royale, AMC Hornet from The Man With The Golden Gun, and the BMW R1200 used in Tomorrow Never Dies. From my last visit in 2005, I remember seeing Jaw's shirt from The Spy Who Loved Me, Moneypenny's dress, the remote control for Bond's BMW is Tomorrow Never Dies and more. We know that Beaulieu are purchasing the 1937 Rolls Royce from Goldfinger, and are probably going to display the car used in the latest film to be released, Bond 23. One of my friends visited the exhibition a few weeks ago and took some amazing photographs. Click the image to open the gallery. |
