'We meet again, Mister Bond." The Daily Mail claims that the iconic Bond baddie will make an appearance in Bond 24. [...] After 30 years, the bald-headed villain might be making a return into the rebooted series. The announcement of the character will be confirmed at the initial press conference, to be held in the first week of December, but will be given the name Franz Oberhauser. This, apparently, is a lie. Franz Oberhauser, as we are led to believe, is the son of the late Hans Oberhauser who was a ski instructor and father figure to Bond.
This version of the character will be less of the cat stroking, bald-headed cliche we have all come to love, and will be a new incarnation of the villain. Sam Mendes has already successfully reinvented two iconic characters, Moneypenny and Q, in 2012's Skyfall.
Christoph Waltz, the Oscar winning actor rumoured to be playing the part, does look similar to Blofeld as described in Ian Fleming's novel 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service.' Danjaq secured all of the rights to use Blofeld and SPECTRE about a year ago. The rights to use Blofeld were in the hands of Kevin McClory, producer and co-writer of the James Bond novel and film 'Thunderball', which allowed him to create his own 007 in 1983 'Never Say Never Again'. In November 2013, Danjaq and MGM acquired the rights owned by McClory and opened the path for Blofeld to return to the series in the future. Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, as well as an EON spokesperson, all denied the rumours of Blofeld's return. > Read more about Christoph Waltz > Read the original story on Daily Mail > Read more Bond 24 news
