Director Sam Mendes was interviewed recently (see previous post) by the hosts of 'Test Match Special' on BBC Radio and confirmed that the title song for the 24th James Bond adventure has been recorded.
Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has recently expressed enthusiasm in singing the title song for Bond 24. She reached the peak of her career in the 1980's with her #1 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and has since gone on to write "Faster Than the Speed of Night" and "Holding Out for a Hero" as well as many other memorable hits. In March, the BBC announced that Tyler would represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest. In an interview with Celebs On Sunday, Tyler commented on turning down the chance to perform the title song for 1983's rival Bond film "Never Say Never Again". She then added that she would like the producers to consider her for an official film. "I wish they'd ask me again and give me a good song, I didn't like the song [Never Say Never Again] and it was the only one that never became a hit." Congratulations to SKYFALL’s Adele for her Best Original Song Oscar and also to Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers who picked up the Oscar for Sound Editing! Welsh group The Stererophonics have expressed their enthusiasm towards perfoming the title song to BOND 24. “If we are called to do the Bond tune I’ll be there. I think it would be good.”
The Stereophonics have worked with David Arnold on their latest album. “When we worked with David on the album, the members of the 36-piece orchestra had worked on the soundtrack for every Bond film since Doctor No. It was an incredible experience.” The Broadcast Film Critics Association today announced the nominations for the 18th annual Critics Choice Movie Awards.
Paul Epworth, producer of the song "SKYFALL" by Adele, comments on their work together. [The producers] said they wanted a dramatic ballad basically, with having read the script and trying to set the whole thing up in that context, where it happens in the film, there was really only one thing it could be. It was interesting to want to do something that was simultaneously dark and final, like a funeral, and to try and turn it into something that was not final. A sense of death and rebirth.” |
