At last night’s BAFTA ceremony in London SKYFALL was presented with two awards. The first was for Outstanding British Film; director Sam Mendes, writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade and producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli were on hand to receive the award. Later in the ceremony, Composer Thomas Newman was honoured for his SKYFALL score.
A fleet of SKYFALL themed Aston Martins will be on hand for New York Fashion Week, providing fans and fashion press with complimentary transportation around Manhattan throughout the event. Wrapped in 007 livery, the cars’ on-board entertainment systems will also screen special features from the Blu-ray release of SKYFALL, the most successful British film of all time.
New York Fashion Week runs from Monday 11th Feb through to Thursday 14th Feb. SKYFALL is released on Blu-ray and DVD in the US from February 12th and February 18th in the UK. Bond fans in the US can now download or stream SKYFALL in Digital HD.

The poster wasn't released with the other set because the producers wanted to keep Kincade's character a secret until the film's release.
Actress Judi Dench who played 'M' in last years Skyfall (and 6 other films) talked about the fact that Skyfall didn't make the Best Picture shortlist at the 2013 Oscars. "I'm very, very sorry that nothing has been recognised, that's a great pity. I thought Sam Mendes directed it absolutely beautifully. It was a terrific film. I think it's good luck if you get an Oscar nomination and bad luck if you don't." Skyfall, however, received nominations in five other categories and a 50th Anniversary celebration will be held at the awards ceremony this month.
Congratulations to SKYFALL’s Production Designer Dennis Gassner who won the Art Director’s Guild Award for contemporary film last night in LA at the 17th Annual Excellence In Production Design Awards for 2012. Earlier that evening Gassner joined Bond production luminaries Ken Adam, Peter Lamont, and Allan Cameron who were honoured with the guild’s Cinematic Imagery Award, recognising the longest-running franchise in film history for its visionary and innovative design.
Back in 2003, Director and Writer Quentin Tarantino expressed his opinion on the next Bond film and hoped to be approached by Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli to allow him to adapt "Casino Royale" as a 1950's drama Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan. However, when the producers refused, he tried to make the film on his own, with no success. "Casino Royale" emerged as the 21st James Bond film with Martin Campbell and Daniel Craig, and Tarantino has remained unfaithful to the Bond series ever since. Just recently whilst promoting his latest film "Django Unchained", he was quizzed about the violence which is present in films of this era. Tarantino, again, brought up the subject of James Bond. "To me, it felt more like an action movie than a Bond movie, I don’t think that [Skyfall] is the one you should be rooting for [for an award]." SKYFALL, the UK’s most successful film of all time, has been nominated for eight awards by The EE British Academy Film Awards. Nominations are Outstanding British Film (Sam Mendes, Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, John Logan), Supporting Actor (Javier Bardem), Supporting Actress (Judi Dench), Original Music (Thomas Newman), Cinematography (Roger Deakins), Editing (Stuart Baird), Production Design (Dennis Gassner, Anna Pinnock) and Sound (Stuart Wilson, Scott Millan, Greg P. Russell, Per Hallberg, Karen Baker Landers). “We are absolutely thrilled SKYFALL has received eight nominations from the British Academy,” said Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. “We thank everybody who has voted for SKYFALL and all those who have contributed to the film’s continuing success.” The Awards will take place on Sunday 10th February at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London.
